The Practice of Growing

 

When people Grow at Mountain View Community Church (MVCC) we hope they experience a life that increasingly becomes:

​

1. Scripturally based - Growing in the knowledge of God and in relationship toward God comes with growth in the knowledge of His Word

(2 Corinthians 10:15; 1 Peter 2:1-3).

 

 2. God-Glorifying - When Believer’s Grow in Christ, their lives become like Jesus and God is glorified (Romans 4:20; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Ephesians 1:18-19).

 

3. Transformed – Growing in Christ will result in being transformed from the inside out and reflecting the character of Jesus

(2 Corinthians 3:18; Romans 12:1-2; 2 Thessalonians 1:3-4; 2 Peter 1:5-8).

 

4. Characterized by Service – A Growing life becomes a serving life

(John 15:1-17; Ephesians 4:11-13; 1 Peter 4:7-11).

 

5. A Life of Godly Character – Those who Grow in maturity will exhibit godly character that can be seen by others

(1 Timothy 3:1-7; Acts 6:1-4; 1 Timothy 5:24-25).
