My Lord Jesus Christ caught me early, but I struggled with the confusion of man and God’s true word while growing up in Utah. His pursuit of me brought me to recommit my life in 1988. At times I feel like a walking miracle with blessings and forgiveness. My life verses are Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope in your latter end.” Joshua 24:15 “…but as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah”

My wife Kris and I were married in 1994 and moved to Ramona in 1995. We have 6 adult children, 3 boys, 3 girls and 4 grandchildren with all but one living in California. I am retired after working in the electronics and electrical controls industry for 49 years. Kris and I joined MVCC in 2018. I have served on the worship team for the past 3 years. I have also had the privilege of using my vocational skills here at MVCC as part of my service

After spending many years commuting down the hill to church and several more years fellowshipping in town we found family here at MVCC. The genuine Christ focus and prayerful hearts are wonderful. We wanted to serve our community of Ramona, this family is all in and the consistent gospel teaching, leadership and praise team shine for Jesus. The ministries are active and refreshing to see in motion, all-inclusive and lovingly helpful in growing the body of Christ. The pastoral team diligently seeks to bring a message true to the word with a humility and close relationship. A worship team with sincere praise for our God. Love in abundance for everyone who enters. What a blessing for Ramona and the McCubbbins.

I have found an integrity here at MVCC while serving on the worship team. Serving provided me the opportunity to establish new relationships and to see the needs of our church body. I believe God has put me here for such a time as this and equipped me as a servant for His purpose. I am excited about the future of this church and the anticipation of growing God’s territory in a world that needs Him. To be a part of this united Elder Board and to grow more deeply in Christ is the anticipation of the new day. In my time here I have experienced the amazing work that God is doing and the integral relationship that our church ministries have in living the joy of Christ daily. I cannot imagine any place I would rather be through this season of life than here at MVCC with these brothers and sisters in Christ.
