E L D E R  B O A R D

Recognizing that Jesus Christ is the head of this church and that the Lead Pastor, called by God, is the spiritual leader of the congregation, the church membership shall elect a board of Elders which shall have the authority to organize, guide and direct all church activities as the sole governing body of Mountain View Community Church.

P U R P O S E

The Elders, in conjunction with the Lead Pastor, shall be the spiritual guardians of the church and be responsible to the congregation for the spiritual development and prudent leadership and oversight of the church, according to the teachings of Scripture and the constitution of the church.

 

G E N E R A L 

R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S

The Elders shall be responsible for spiritual development and assuring the proper management of activities of the church on behalf of the members. They will set goals and provide direction. They will approve the creation of all Ministries, Boards and Committees and the selection process for all Chairpersons. They will approve applications or removals from membership and assure scriptural administration of the ordinances of the church (i.e., communion, baptism). They will approve church objectives; budgetary and financial plans; and policies and programs. They will assure the ministry and conduct of the church organizations conform to the teaching of Scripture and the stated purposes of the church.
